The horn player Elena Kakaliagou is a member of ensembles Zinc & Copper and zeitkratzer, as well as co-founder of the Rank Ensemble, the trio Para, and the duos Nabelòse and Guerra/Kakaliagou. Kakaliagou's playing is maximally sound-oriented, her music is always organic. It oscillates between tonality and noisy percussive sounds. The expert in microtonality impresses with her strong stage presence and her inherent ease in playing. The double bassist Felix Henkelhausen was nominated for the German Jazz Prize in 2023, has already performed in over 30 countries and is an active part of the young European jazz scene. Henkelhausen plays with, among others, Jim and the Schrimps, Tau5, Bram de Looze "Vice Versa", Liun and the Science Fiction Orchestra, Marc Copland New Quartet and Stefan Schultze Large. Kakaliagou and Henkelhausen already improvised as a duo around 5 years ago – time for a new edition!

The trio Sarter Kit revolving around saxophonist Tara Sarter plays its very own definition of jazz like there's no tomorrow. Free improvisations integrate seamlessly with Sarter's compelling compositions. It is never obvious where the composition begins and improvisation ends nor vice versa. Sarter Kit works like a single organism; the musicians' blind understanding of each other seems to be precognition. Their joy of playing and the energy of this trio are absolutely intoxicating. Dynamics, complexity and burning air are on the menu.
