Shelley Hirsch is "an unorthodox extraordinary fusion of vocalist, composer and performance artist" (Anne LeBaron) whose work encompasses story telling pieces, staged performances, compositions, improvisations, collaborations, installations and radio-plays, which have been presented on 5 continents. Turntablist Joke Lanz creates autonomous sound-cells that melt into a language free of any function. He combines ritual reductionism with anarchistic playfulness, atmospheric soundscapes with cut-up noise and physicalness with unpredictability.

Olaf Rupp – guitar
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately the formerly announced duo with Theo Nabicht had to be cancelled. Instead of that Olaf Rupp will be playing a solo guitar performance.

Olaf Rupp (electric guitar, nylon string guitar) started at the age of twelve playing Improvised Music on the guitar. His way of holding the guitar in an upright position is inspired by chinese Pipa players, but it also saves him from pain in the back. He regards every note as one dot in a higher matrix and it’s color is more important than the position of that note in any hierarchic classification system. So a sequence of notes creates a moving sound, not a melody. And the intrinsic colour of every note is more important than the melodic or harmonic burden which the listener may or may not put on it. Olaf Rupp has been touring in many countries and performed with extraordinary musicians such as Lol Coxhill, Michael Wertmüller, Peter Brötzmann, John Zorn, Joe Williamson, Paul Lovens, Tristan Honsinger, Butch Morris, Tony Buck and many more.
