Das Duo Heenan / Vorfeld begann seine gemeinsame Arbeit im Mai 2005 und hat seitdem kontinuierlich an einem eigenständigen und unverwechselbaren Sound gearbeitet. In ihrer Musik entstehen komplex angelegte Klangwelten, voll filigraner Details und feinster Texturen. Immer wieder voller Überraschungen, entwickeln sich mikrokosmisch angelegte und extrem feingliedrige Hörfelder. Die Intensität der Klangfarben, die eigenwillige Instrumentierung, sowie die individuell entwickelten Spieltechniken verbinden sich in ihren Konzerten zu einem intensiven musikalischen Live-Ereignis.

With the breath as a central component, Anat Cohavi, Matthias Muller and Hilary Jeffery explore the extremes of their instruments in unpredictable ways. From warm deep-bass textures to sharp high clicks, their music spans beyond the standard range of their instruments and moves in unpredictable ways. All manner of so-called "extended techniques" are employed, from long drawn-out multiphonics to short percussiveslaps. Out of this dense and complex soundworld emerges a musical atmosphere which sounds archaic and modern at the same time.
